Surah Covid 19 | Surah Corona |

This is a surah, poetry, not of the Quran, but something else, written in the 21st century by Algerian Atheist Djilou.  The New Arab reports that a Tunisian girl by the name of Al-Shariq has received death threats for SHARING this image on social media.  Why all the anger over imitating the Quran? Doesn’t the Quran itself in 2:23 challenge the reader to do EXACTLY this?

“And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah , if you should be truthful.”

One of the strongest arguments nowadays used for the Quran is not scientific miracles, which seem to be falling by the wayside, and of course Muhammad’s actions are even worse yet, so what is left?  Well the linguistic miracle.  You see videos of non-Muslims listening to Quran and saying “Wow this sounds so beautiful. It’s better than music even! You’ll never get bored with listening to the Quran!”

Well, you be the judge.  Can you tell the difference between the Quran and this? It takes incredible courage to write such a thing and show your face.  Without all the death threats, do you not think there would be a million such responses to the Quran?  Of course there would be!  There would be a million such “Qurans”

I present you Surah Covid19.

Surah Corona

I seek refuge in Djilou from the wretched virus

In the name of Djilou, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

Covid

By the eradicating virus

But they were surprised that it came to them from China far away

So the infidels (Kafirun) said it was a stubborn disease

ﺪﻴﻨﻋ ٌﺽﺮﻣ ﻪﻧﺇ ﻥﻭﺮﻓﺎﻜﻟﺍ ﻝﺎﻘﻓ

No, rather it is certain death

ﺪﻴﻛﻷﺍ ﺕﻮﻤﻟﺍ ﻮﻫ ﻞﺑ ﻼﻛ

There is no difference today between the kings and slaves

ﺪﻴﺒﻌﻟﺍﻭ ﻙﻮﻠﻤﻟﺍ ﻦﻴﺑ ﻡﻮﻴﻟﺍ ﻕﺮﻓ ﻻ

So hold on to science and abandon traditions

ﺪﻴﻟﺎﻘﺘﻟﺍ ﺍﻮﻛﺮﺗﺍﻭ ﻢﻠﻌﻟﺎﺑ ﺍﻮﻤﺼﺘﻋﺎﻓ

And don’t go out to buy wheat

ﺪﻴﻤﺴﻟﺍ ﺍﻭﺮﺘﺸﺘﻟ ﺍﻮﺟﺮﺨﻧ ﻻﻭ

And stay home for it is a strong scourge

ﺪﻳﺪﺷ ﺀﻼﺑ ﻪﻧﺇ ﻢﻜﺘﺗﻮﻴﺑ ﻲﻓ ﺍﻮﺜﻜﻣﺍﻭ

And wash your hands with modern soap

ﺪﻳﺪﺠﻟﺍ ﻥﻮﺑﺎﺼﻟﺎﺑ ﻢﻜﻳﺪﻳﺃ ﺍﻮﻠﺴﻏﺍﻭ

Almighty Djilou has provided this truth

ﻢﻴﻈﻌﻟﺍ ﻮﻠﻴﺟ ﻕﺪﺻ

What did you think?  Was it convincing?  Well done?  I think so.  This one short surah gives advice that is missing from the entire 6236 verses of the Quran – stay home in the pandemic and wash your hand.  Muhammad didn’t think of this lifesaving measure apparently, but our Prophet Djilou did.
